Rostekhnadzor Awarded a Certificate of Honor to TAIF-NK


The certificate of honor highlights revamp of production facilities and implementation of new technologies as well as improvement of reliability and safety in the company’s production plants.

“TAIF-NK” was awarded a certificate of honor by the Federal Environmental, Engineering and Nuclear Supervision Agency (Rostekhnadzor) “For the best management in the field of introduction of new technologies, improvement of reliability and safety in the company’s production plants”.

From August 4 to 31, 2011, the Federal Environmental, Engineering and Nuclear Supervision Agency carried out an unscheduled on-site check at “TAIF-NK”. The commission was studying PSC “TAIF-NK” documents over a month, assessing actuality of data pre-submitted to Rostekhnadzor as well as was inspecting all the hazardous production facilities, process units, and premises.

Today, PSC “TAIF-NK” uses modern production technologies and methods in order to create safe working conditions for the company’s personnel, minimize and avoid risks of emergency and hazardous situations, and accidents, occupational illness, and adverse environmental impact related to them, as well as to ensure environmentally sound living conditions in the region, where the company operates.

Currently, “TAIF-NK” carries out reequipment of a diesel fuel hydrotreatment unit with increase in its capacity, retrofit of an elemental sulfur production unit, and a gas oil hydrotreatment unit.

In addition, retrofit/modernization of ELOU-AVT-7 unit is under way along with construction of a heavy residue conversion complex (HRCC). Upon completion of HRCC in 2015, TAIF-NK intends to expand oil refining capacity from current 8.1 to 10.1 mln tons, and increase conversion depth from 73.5 per cent to the maximal value (the Russian sector average is 71-72 per cent).
A modern oil refining complex of PSC “TAIF-NK” includes a refinery, a gasoline production plant, and a gas condensate processing plant. The company operates 18 hazardous production facilities involved in oil refining industry.

PSC “TAIF-NK” is a key link in the oil and gas processing sector of “TAIF” Group. PSC “TAIF-NK” produces 97 per cent of petrochemicals in the Republic of Tatarstan, and it is one of the largest companies in the region in terms of resource supply to the petrochemical enterprises of “TAIF” Group located in the Republic of Tatarstan.

In 2010 and the first six months of 2011, the company produced 8,138.9 and 4,451.0 thousand tons of petrochemicals, respectively. Five products of TAIF-NK were listed among the “100 Russian best products” in 2010.

In 2010, the company’s total revenue equaled to RUB 94 bln 52 mln, with the net income of RUB 7.877 bln. In the first six months of 2011, the total revenue equaled to RUB 65 bln 20 mln, while the net income amounted to RUB 7.469 bln.
