An alignment meeting was held in Kazan with participation of the chief power engineers of TAIF Group’s industrial enterprises. The meeting was mainly dedicated to the implementation of energy saving activities in 2015.
Nizhnekamskneftekhim PJSC, the major energy consumer in the Republic of Tatarstan, presented its achievements in this area. Alexander Vdovin, Chief Power Engineer, noted that the company continues implementation of the corporate power energy program developed till 2016.
This year, as part of this programme, NKNH continues modernization of the main step-down and distribution substation where out-of-date and obsolete equipment is being replaced with the state-of-the-art equipment meeting the world standards. As a result, power supply reliability is improved at the company’s production facilities.
The company also goes on with the programme aimed at substitution of the cable network at trunk transmission lines and repairs the lightning systems that are out of service life.
The substitution of incandescent lamps for energy-saving lamps allows 4-time power energy consumption reduction. Out of 90 thousand lamps, some 8 thousand are still to be replaced.
Till 2018, in the framework of the programme Nizhnekamsk Industrial Hub Consumers Power Supply Reliability Improvement approved by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, TAIF Group’s companies will implement 25 activities to the amount of RUB 4.2 billion, out of which RUB 3 billion are own funds of Nizhnekamsk. As set out in the document, two substations will be built in Nizhnekamsk Municipal District that will ensure stable power supply to the production facilities.
