On April 22, at 8.45 a.m. the fourth halobutyl rubber (HIIR) production line was started up officially. The halobutyl rubber is used in the tire production industry to manufacture the inner layer of tubeless tires thus improving their durability.
The function to celebrate the official start-up of the 4th process line was held with participation of Rustam Minnikhanov, Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Albert Shigabutdinov, General Director, TAIF Group, Vladimir Busygin, Board Chairman, Nizhnekamskneftekhim (NKNK), Azat Bikmurzin, CEO, Nizhnekamskneftekhim and the companys Board members along with the employees of the Butyl Rubber Plant and construction firms that participated in the project implementation.
When delivering a welcome speech after pushing a symbolic button, which launched rubber manufacturing process, Rustam Minnikhanov noted, Nizhnekamskneftekhim is oriented towards export that proves its high competitiveness. Today, NKNK is a leading petrochemical facility both in Russia and in the entire Europe. This start-up is one of the results of 2014, and Id like to congratulate you and to wish that all the future results are as successful as this one. WELDING 4 is the result of the initial stage of halobutyl rubber production expansion. Hence, the company has got a big opportunity to diversify butyl rubber production moving towards halogenated grades depending on the demand and requests from the consumers. The new production facility was built in the shortest period possible - less than a year. Every hour the fourth production line will manufacture 8 tons of products.
The design capacity allows manufacturing 50 thousand tons of products per year.
According to the assessment done by specialists, multiple million investments in the construction of a new Welding will pay back in a few years subject to a stable profit margin and high demand.
According to forecasts, this year a global demand for synthetic rubbers will grow up to 16.8 million tons and this trend will continue in the subsequent years.
